Currently, it has 1,700 combined outlets nationwide, including Ontario, and offers automotive and insurance services. In Ontario, Canadian Tire offers the lowest plan for auto club membership. A pay-per-use plan can go for as low as $23.88 per year with coverage for two individuals. There is also a flat rate of $44.95 per incident or call out for road assistance. For this rate, the maximum towing distance allowed is 10 km.

CAA Eastern Ontario Roadside Assistance

bike

A small part of the CAA club is the CAA Eastern Ontario group. It offers similar packages as the CAA head office and services are available 24 hours a day. The key advantage of the East Ontario club over its counterparts is its Bike Assist program. The Bike Assist initiative was launched in 2012 to support the growing number of people moving towards a greener lifestyle. It is free for all active members, available 24 hours a day for the entire year in North and East Ontario. The services vary based on the membership plan. Those who availed of the Classic package will get a maximum towing distance of 10 km while those who took the Plus package will get 200 km of towing services. Premier members enjoy an allowance of 320 km.

Bikers who run into problems can avail of the transport service if the bike needs repair in the shop. However, each service call counts against the limit of calls per plan, including towing. For towing services, the driver will transport the bike and its passenger but will not attempt to repair the bike, even if it only requires mending a flat tire. One downside to the plan is that the service does not include assistance in areas like mountain trails and parks.
